Use of PLC units for heating and regulation system in the Baloon Hotel in Radešín.
Heating regulation system in Baloon hotel brought lower operation costs, easier hotel room management and interconnection with hotel brewery greater efficiensy of heating itself.
Before the installation manual control of central heating was not ideal. It was necessary to turn them on / off one by one. Rooms were later equipped with thermostat but those quickly ran out of battery. All things considered, this solution was neither economical nor cofortable, so it was decided to install automation system.
For the regulation system are used 4 controller units UniPi v.1 along with a lot of extension modules. Radiators in each separate room were equipped with a digital valve controlled over relay outputs. Each room was equipped with a digital thermometer and there were magnetic contacts installed into windows.
If there is a guest reservation for the room, the personnel turns on the heating. It is on until the temperature is ideal. The heating turns itself off, when the system detects an opened window. The heating up personnel turns on via online user interface. Maintained temperature is set lower during the night and raised early in the morning for more comfortable waking up.
Monitoring of the system proved the lower operation costs and the system also increased comfort of both customers and personnel. In the building is newly built a small automated brewery, which itself is a unique project. It adds to the hotel heating system with waste heat from the brewing process.
